Assessing Sensitivity in Parent-Child Interactions: The Maternal Behaviour Q-Sort (MBQS)
15–16 February 2018
National Portrait Gallery, King Edward Terrace, Parkes, Canberra

The MBQS is a systematic and user-friendly observational assessment tool based on the work of Mary Ainsworth in the attachment field, looking at observed behaviours in natural settings. The MBQS provides a descriptive profile of a caregiver’s strengths and weaknesses that can inform attachment assessments and interventions.

This tool can be used in a variety of contexts and populations. It is valuable for conducting formal assessments in child protection and family court, for clinicians working with parents and young children, and for researchers.

Dr Erinn Hawkins, Assistant Director of the University Psychology Clinic, Bond University will lead the training. Dr Hawkins completed her PhD in clinical psychology under the supervision of Dr Dave Pederson and Dr Greg Moran the original developers of the MBQS. She continues to collaborate with them.

Please note that this training has a small quota so numbers are very limited.
