Developed in 2008 in the UK, the Five Ways to Wellbeing is an evidence-based approach to promoting wellbeing which is now used by communities and organisations around the world.

South Western Sydney Local Health District has created a district-wide campaign Five Ways to Wellbeing South Western Sydney to promote wellbeing messages in our communities.

What is a Five Ways to Wellbeing Champion?

An individual or an organisation who:

  • Incorporates the Five Ways to Wellbeing into their professional practice, programs or organisational culture.
  • Actively promotes the Five Ways to Wellbeing actions with the people and communities they work in.
  • Participates in Five Ways to Wellbeing Champions training
  • Organises events or activities to promote positive wellbeing especially in Mental Health Month each October.

Training aims:

  • To introduce and explain the Five Ways and the evidence that informs the framework.
  • To analyse what Five Ways programs work and how to incorporate the Five Ways to Wellbeing into professional practice.
  • To learn ways to improve your own mental health and wellbeing, as it is to help others adopt the Five Ways to improve personal mental wellbeing.
