A new creative writing centre will open in Parramatta in May 2018. The new branch of the Sydney Story Factory will offer free creative writing workshops for young people from throughout Western Sydney. Workshops will run during school hours for school groups, after school, on weekends and during school holidays.

The first school in NSW fully devoted to science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) education is planned for the future Sydney Science Park in Western Sydney. The school will cater for more than 2000 students from preschool to post-Year 12. Students will have the opportunity to collaborate with and learn from research institutions
