The City of Parramatta has launched a new 12-month pilot project to help boost the local music scene after the success of February's inaugural Live and Local event. “Amplify” will enhance live music performance programming within local venues by connecting businesses with musicians and helping them build long-term relationships.

The Culture and Our City Discussion Paper can be viewed online and submissions can be made online, by email or by telephone.

A new creative writing centre will open in Parramatta in May 2018. The new branch of the Sydney Story Factory will offer free creative writing workshops for young people from throughout Western Sydney. Workshops will run during school hours for school groups, after school, on weekends and during school holidays.
