Part time. Initial 2 year contract

City of Parramatta Council is seeking a highly skilled individual to join our dynamic Community Capacity Building team.

As Community Capacity Building Officer (Social Investment), you will be responsible for implementing tasks within the Social Investment Action Plan related to the development of a Community Foundation for the City of Parramatta and surrounding areas.

A sub-fund is being created with the Sydney Community Foundation. This role will be responsible for establishing a community-led fundraising group and, through consultation with the community, developing and implementing a Fundraising and Grant-making Strategy for the sub-fund.

This is an initial 2 year contract on a temporary part time 14 hr per week job-share basis offered as a result of flexible work arrangements.

Selection Criteria

  1. Relevant tertiary qualifications (eg, social sciences, economics, business, philanthropy) or equivalent experience of more than six years in relevant fields in the community, government, business or philanthropic sectors.
  2. Demonstrated success in strategic fundraising or philanthropy.
  3. Demonstrated experience and competence in working with philanthropic partnerships to renew communities and/or increase equality to achieve improved outcomes for all stakeholders.
  4. A developed understanding of the principles of social sustainability, community capacity building and social investment.
  5. Demonstrated success in establishing and maintaining productive working relationships with all internal stakeholders and external stakeholders across the community, government, business and philanthropic sectors.
  6. Well-developed skills in communicating, negotiating and influencing, and the ability to write for multiple and diverse audiences and requirements.

Salary Range: $115,819 to $127,522 p.a. pro rata + Super dependent on skills, knowledge and experience.
