Australian currency notes rolled up and standing

A report released by the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) has revealed that income and wealth inequality have remained stable in Australia since 2013–14. The Survey of Income and Housing is Australia’s largest survey of income and wealth and provides an important measure of inequality.

However, the report found that wealth is less equally distributed than income amongst Australians, with wealth inequality the same today as it was in 2013–14, but higher than it was when first measured in 2003–04.
