Young man wearing blue jeans and blue t-shirt with hands behind back in handcuffs

BURN is a gritty drama following the story of 16-year-old Tee whose life is destroyed when a late-night drive with older boys spirals out of control. Legal Aid NSW commissioned internationally acclaimed filmmaker David Vadiveloo and Community Prophets to create the short film.

Legal Aid NSW runs a major crime prevention program about young people and group offending. The aim of the program is to prevent young people from getting caught up in serious group assaults and robberies.

The film and the BURN website have recently been reformatted so that it can now be viewed on all formats and devices and also has subtitles.

Young people can watch the film online, see interviews with the characters, examine their actions from other points of view and find out more information about their legal rights. A study guide with engaging activities and exploration of the themes and concepts is available.
