Made in the West is an annual film festival uniting established and emerging Western Sydney filmmakers on the red carpet in celebration of their work. The festival is seeking short film submissions from filmmakers in the region. Films of any genre are welcome, from documentary and music video, to animation, drama series, sci-fi and horror.

All entries must be under 15 minutes in duration.

Made in the West is dedicated to screening films with connections to Western Sydney, highlighting cast members, crew and locations from our local region. Featuring original, authentic stories and the diverse artists who bring them to life, this unique festival shines a spotlight on Western Sydney’s emerging film scene and celebrates short films representing life in the western suburbs.

Submissions will be judged by a panel of industry professionals. Finalists compete for trophy awards including the Best in the West Award, Best Student Film and the highly coveted Audience Choice Award. Individual category prizes will be awarded for Best Director, Cinematographer, Editor, Sound Design and Actor / Actress.

All finalists will have a chance to network with VIPs and filmmakers on the night, walk the red carpet and celebrate this year’s films with hundreds of other Western Sydney producers.

Entries close: 10 November 2017

Festival date: 25 November 2017
