Team Up is offering grants to people with disability to set up or develop peer groups. Grants of up to $10,000 are available to help people set up new peer groups, grow existing groups, or connect a peer group to the wider community through a project or campaign.

The grants can be used for things like:

  • Room hire for peer group meetings.
  • Auslan or language interpreters.
  • Hosting a community event or expo.

The grants recognise that people with disability living in NSW are experts in their own lives and that they are increasingly turning to each other for advice and support about everyday challenges, instead of seeking out traditional information sources, such as disability support workers and other such disability service providers.

Grant applications are open to people with disability, family members or supporters in NSW. Team Up is also offering training for people with disability and their family who are interested in learning how to set-up and lead peer groups in their area.

Applications close: 14 October 2017
