Defibrillator Familiarisation & First Responder Information Session

This community information session will give attendees confidence to not only know how to use a defibrillator but to respond effectively in a cardiac arrest situation. Time is critical when someone is having a cardiac arrest and the first 10 minutes are essential to help save a life.

The session will cover the following topics:

  • Sudden Cardiac Arrest vs Heart Attack
  • Current national statistics
  • DRSABCD & the chain of survival
  • The 000 process
  • Cardiopulmonary resuscitation
  • Use and maintenance of a defibrillator
  • The Good Samaritan Act
  • General questions & support

This training is funded via the Stronger Communities Fund Grant and the City of Parramatta.

Venue: Westmead Hospital, Level 2, Education Block, Lecture Theatre 4.
