Sharing the Opportunities of Growth For All – Socially Sustainable Parramatta Framework sets out a way of working for City of Parramatta Council which puts people first and identifies some specific ways that the opportunities of growth can be shared equitably for all people. The Framework applies to the city's unique and diverse neighbourhoods as well as the CBD.

The draft Framework was on public exhibition between April and May 2017, and the final Framework incorporates the feedback of the community, Council staff, and external stakeholders. The Framework includes an objective, eight goals, and values for decision making, to improve the social sustainability of the City.

Why does Parramatta need a framework to improve social sustainability?

City of Parramatta is transforming. The intensity of growth and investment in the City of Parramatta will create many opportunities for a new and more diverse mix of high quality housing, jobs and infrastructure in a liveable, productive and sustainable city.

Council wants everyone in the community to benefit from the city’s growth and prosperity and recognises that now is the time to take significant strides to shape a future for the city that all people can share in. To ensure that this happens, Council needs a strong framework for social sustainability.

Cities that are committed to social sustainability are resilient, liveable, productive, sustainable places where all people can thrive.
