Lake Parramatta is ready to resume its place as one of Sydney’s most popular summer recreation destinations with lifeguard patrols now back, marking the start of the swimming season. The patrols conducted by the Australian Lifeguard Service will continue through until 2 April 2018, from 9.00am to 6.00pm every weekend, on public holidays and during school holidays.

A boat hire service is also available at Lake Parramatta, operating outside of the designated swimming enclosure.

In the lead up to the swimming season an underwater safety inspection of the swimming area was carried out and regular testing by Council has confirmed the lake continues to have good water quality.

Recent capital works include upgrades to the path leading to the Lake foreshore to improve access for swimmers. A public viewing platform accessible for prams and wheelchairs has also been completed, enabling more people to enjoy the natural surrounds of the Lake.
