Karabi Social Support is funded by Australian Government Department of Health. This project provides a range of services for the frail aged, people with disabilities and their carers. Karabi Social Support aims to provide practical assistance and services.

  • Volunteer and client are linked and matched with similar interests.
  • Visit a senior in their own home to reduce social isolation.
  • On going commitment of 2 hours per fortnight.
  • Take client shopping, medical appointments or Activities – centre based or external.
  • Assist with centre based activities and client transport.
  • Driver’s license and full comprehensive car insurance essential.

Karabi offers volunteers:

  • Partial re-imbursement for travel expenses and telephone calls.
  • Regular social outings with volunteers meet and make new friends.
  • Ongoing volunteer training.
  • First Aid Courses.
  • Work experience in a Community Development Organisation.
  • Social support staff on hand for assistance Monday to Friday.
