Group of children playing with musical instruments at preschool

Do you work with children who would be starting school in the next few years? Are they or their families experiencing barriers to engaging with preschool or child care? Uniting is offering a new program, Links to Early Learning, and is currently accepting referrals. The program is designed for people who are facing difficulties enabling their child to attend an early learning service, such as preschool or child care.

By connecting parents to quality options, the program aims to help children access early learning the year before they start school and also provide support to participating services.

Each family referral will be considered carefully. Priority will be given to children who will be eligible to attend school in 2019 and face multiple disadvantages.

Who is eligible?

The program is aimed at families in the Campbelltown, Liverpool, Fairfield and Bankstown areas and is not means tested. To be eligible, a child must:

  • Not currently be attending an early learning service
  • Start school in the next two years
  • Be able to attend at least one to two days a week.

The child must also have parents or carers who are having trouble accessing early learning, for example, because of language issues, being new to Australia, travel difficulties, health problems or disability.
