Fairfield City Council is offering a wide range of exciting activities and workshops these summer school holidays to keep kids active and entertained. Parents and guardians can be sure there is something for every child to get out of the house and have fun with a range of child related activities spanning across Council’s libraries, leisure centres and the Fairfield City Museum & Gallery.

3D Monster Faces
Wednesday 17 January 2018, 10.30am–12.00pm
Ages: 5+
Cost: $8 per child
Explore how to make big and wild 3 dimensional monster faces in this fun workshop while learning the art of collage and cut and paste techniques. Make them big or make them small, and watch them pop out!

Creative Cardboard Creations
Thursday 18 January 2018, 10.30am–12.00pm
Ages: 4+ (Parents or carers are welcome to sit in and assist for this workshop)
Cost: $8 per child
Using sustainable materials children will learn how to create their own magical castle, technical robot or double-storey house out of cardboard. It will be a race to the finish as to who can design the biggest and best!

Animals Alive!

Ages: 5+
Cost: $8 per child
Learn how fun and easy watercolour painting can be! Paint your favourite animals in wild and wonderful ways.

Magic Money-boxes
Thursday 23 January 2018, 10.30am–12.00pm

Learn more about collaging and decoupage techniques, in order to design your very own robot, alien or animal money box!

Short film workshop
Wednesday 24 January 2018, 10.00am–3.00pm
Ages: 7–13
Cost: $35 per child
Get hands-on experience in filmmaking, acting, photography and more in this one-day workshop! Guided by local professional film-makers, children will work in small groups to shoot, act, direct and edit a short film. Please bring a packed lunch, snacks and water for this workshop.

Out of this world!

Ages: 6+
Cost: $8 per child
Run by exhibiting artist Lisa Sammut, explore astronomy, cosmic wonders, lines and geometric shapes in order to design colourful watercolour paintings that reflect cosmic galaxies afar!

Active Kids School Holiday Program
Fairfield Leisure Centre

Kids will have a ball at the Active Kids school holiday program, held over two weeks (15–19 January, 22–25 January) at Fairfield Leisure Centre Precinct. The program runs 8.30am–4.00pm daily and incorporates a large variety of physical activities to allow children to make friends and learn new skills in a safe environment with top-class facilities. Children will enjoy a range of activities including badminton, table tennis, trampolines and more. Prices start at $50 per day.
