Fairfield City Council
Family Events Working Group (FEWG) meeting
8 March 2018, 1.30pm–3.30pm
Facilitation Project and Supported Playgroups Building, 1 Pevensey St, Canley Vale

Local organisations that work with young children in Fairfield are invited to help plan this year’s 3 main community events that support families with young children in Fairfield LGA.

FEWG is a cross sector alliance of local workers collaborating together to plan, organise, support and deliver events that contribute to positive outcomes and wider community engagement. The working group is seeking new members.

As a member of the working group, you will be required to attend 4 meetings during the year and participate in the 3 events delivered.

In 2017, FEWG organised 3 successful community events:

  • National Families Week Family Fun and Information Day, held at Neeta City shopping centre in May
  • Child Protection Week White Balloon group activities to support keeping children safe, held in September
  • Early Childhood Fun Day in celebration of National Children's Week in October.

Note for early childhood workers: the FEWG activities can complement the EYLF #2 outcomes by supporting children’s development of a sense of belonging to groups and communities and help build awareness of diversity and social inclusion.

Afternoon tea will be provided.
