Forbes Shire Council’s Community Funding Program offers funding to not-for-profit groups and organisations which have local membership or participation or are undertaking a project or providing a service showing significant local benefit in the Forbes area. Applications are now open.

Applications are invited for groups seeking funding for:

  • Support – Support for existing not for profit groups continuing their vital roles in Forbes
  • Seed – Encourage the development of new activities or events
  • Growth – Improve and build strategic capacity for existing events, activities and programs for that they may continue to diversify, expand and prosper into new areas and demographics

To apply for Council funding, your organisation, community group or you as an individual must comply with the following criteria:

  • Conduct the event, activity, program or service within the Forbes Local Government Area;
  • Be a not-for-profit entity, or have the project auspiced by a not-for-profit entity;
  • Hold current and relevant public liability insurance to the value of $20 million if applicable to the purpose of the funding;
  • Commence the event, activity, project or service within the financial year in which the funding is sought;
  • Demonstrate environmental, social and economic benefits to the region;
  • Be financially viable; and
  • Provide all relevant documents asked in the application form
