Group of people in shape of a ribbon

Take part in a unique opportunity for people who are passionate about volunteering and be involved in a creative flash mob. We will all get together, and make our own props and form a cardboard roller-coaster and walk around Parramatta cheering for National Volunteer Week! Requirements include: the motivation to have a lot of fun in a public space and a passion for volunteering!

No dancing skills needed, as there will be no dancing involved!

There will be two rehearsals where you can opt to attend one or both (at least one rehearsal is required). The rehearsals will be approx 3 hours in duration and will include some prop making:

  • Saturday 29 April in Parramatta (location and time to be advised)
  • Saturday 6 May in Parramatta (location and time to be advised)

Volunteer Photographer/Videographer

In addition to flash mob performers/participants, we are also looking for a volunteer photographer/videographer to document the event. You will need to be available for the event on 13 May, although attendance at a rehearsal is not required.

Skills:

  • Intermediate/advanced photography/videography skills
  • A passion for volunteering

Guitarist/Musician

We are also looking for a volunteer guitarist/singer or any musician who is confident to play their instrument during the flash mob. You will be required to attend at least one rehearsal (although, as the musician, it would be great if you could come to both). See rehearsal details above.

Skills:

  • Ability to play a musical instrument (while walking)
  • A passion for volunteering

Other requirements: You must be over 13 years of age to take part in the flash mob.

Event date: Saturday 13 May.
