Word 'volunteer' with a tick for the 'v'

Are you a woman who is studying community services or working casually/part time in community services? Are you proactive, able to work alone and as part of a team? Do you have an empathetic nature and administrative skills? This volunteer position is for a woman* who is interested in assisting the Safe Communities worker to maintain and promote Domestic Violence programs and campaign.

The tasks include:

  • helping to coordinate groups
  • helping with intakes
  • completing administration
  • contacting agencies and services about upcoming programs
  • organising resources

This is a varied role and it needs someone who is very self directed and able to manage a task on their own, as the Safe Communities worker may not always be onsite but will have always left a task.

Ideally the volunteer for this position will have an understanding of community services work, especially in the area of Domestic Violence, however training is available so that you feel confident in the position. The role primarily focuses on administration support.

This is a long-term volunteer position for the right person. It would be a great opportunity for a student who would like to gain experience before entering the industry.

Volunteer shifts are 10.00am to 2.00pm. Days and hours are negotiable.
