Would you love to use your driving skills and time to transport community members to important appointments and outings that will enhance their quality of life? Volunteer as a driver with a not-for-profit organisation that provides transport for older people, people with disabilities and their carers living in the Blue Mountains and Penrith local government areas.

Car driver tasks include:

  • Meeting the client(s) at the pickup time on the run sheet and transporting them to their destination, providing assistance if the client requests it.
  • Checking the vehicle as per weekly check sheet and recording mileage on run sheet.
  • Collecting the contribution from the client.

Days are flexible (weekdays). Volunteer shifts start in the morning, with mid-afternoon finishes.

Other skills and requirements:

Desirable:

  • Ability to participate in light physical tasks e.g. assisting clients to get in and out of the car.

Essential:

  • Minimum Class C Drivers Licence
  • Friendly, approachable, conversational
  • Patient, good listening skills
  • Reliable and responsible
  • Respectful of privacy and personal information
  • Willingness to attend volunteer training as required
  • Good driving record

Other skills and requirements:

  • National Police Check
  • Drivers licence (car)
