Conservation Volunteers Australia are holding two nature conservation days and are seeking volunteers to assist. Join them on World Wildlife Day on 3 March at Bartolo Nature Reserve to help with tasks such as weeding and watering, and on 19 March for a Sanctuary Bird Survey at the reserve.

World Wildlife Day encourages people around the world to come together to address ongoing threats to wildlife, including habitat change. This World Wildlife Day take action to restore habitat for endangered species by volunteering at one of Western Sydney's newest nature reserves, Bartolo.

A sanctuary for wildlife, Bartolo Nature Reserve is a crucial habitat link in outer Western Sydney. Home to kangaroos, native birds and the endangered Cumberland Land Snail, Bartolo needs helping hands to restore and protect its biodiversity. Join with other volunteer and help with weeding, and watering to restore this precious site. Registration for this volunteer opportunity is essential.

Transport details: 8.30 am pick-up from Richmond Station, to start at 9.00 am. You may choose to stay a full day until 3.45 pm, with a drop off back to the station at 4.00 pm or opt for a half or part day of volunteering.

Sanctuary Bird Surveys
19 March & 28 May 2018, 7.30am–11.30am
Bartolo Nature Reserve

Bartolo Nature Reserve is a remnant of endangered Cumberland Plain Woodland and a sanctuary for native wildlife. Join with other volunteers, and local birding expert, Mark Fuller, to conduct a survey of birds at Bartolo. Registration for this volunteer opportunity is essential. Children as young as 7 are welcome to attend this event.

Transport details: 7:30 am pick-up from Richmond Station, to start at 8:00 am. The morning will conclude with morning tea under the tree-top canopy and drop back to the station by 11:30 am.
