Youth Action and All Together Now believe in a world where everyone feels safe and accepted, so they’re building a community of skilled-up volunteers across NSW to foster social cohesion and create a safer world for everyone. They are looking for young and emerging health and social sector leaders aged 18 to 25 who are based in Western Sydney to join the 4-month CAPE Youth Ambassador Program.

What will you gain?
The program is looking for young health and social sector workers or students who want more experience or to develop professional skills. This program will give you:

  • Communication skills – learn how to effectively challenge racism online and offline
  • Leadership skills – learn to address complex and controversial topics with young people
  • Networks and relationship management – build local connections with like-minded young people and services

Program details
The CAPE Youth Ambassador Program runs from July to November 2017. It involves:

  • Learning how to contain and manage online conversations to limit the impact and spread of hate speech
  • Engaging in online conversations about current social issues
  • One full day training with All Together Now (end July 2017) in Penrith, NSW
  • Expert training sessions with Facebook and Google Australia
  • Approximately 2 hours per week of volunteering online
