Grants are available to fund community events that celebrate grandparents and provide opportunities for older people to participate in activities with their families and communities. This year, the grant funding available for NSW Grandparents Day events has increased to a total of $200,000.

Three funding categories are offered to distribute the grant program across NSW:

Category 1
$100 to $1,000 for small-scale local community events or activities targeted at community organisations and schools.

Category 2
$1,001 to $5,000 for local community events, targeted at larger community organisations and groups.

Category 3
$5,001 to $10,000 for large-scale community events targeted at local councils in partnership with organisations and groups. Category 3 funding is available to local government organisations only.

Who can apply?
All not-for-profit and community organisations, schools, childcare centres, and local government authorities based in NSW can apply. Workplaces or businesses that plan activities or projects that support the needs of older people can also apply.

All funded Grandparents Day events must be held between Sunday 15 October and Sunday 12 November 2017
