A boost in funding to the 'Move It AUS' program will support Australians to increase their daily physical activity, focusing heavily on helping inactive people to get out and about in their local communities.

The $22.9 million 'Move It AUS - Better Ageing' grants program, specifically targeted towards people aged 65 and older will provide funding to heath care practitioners, sports clubs and physical activity providers to provide more classes, better equipment and to develop better strategies to enable ageing Australians to be active and improve their overall health and wellbeing.

The Ministry of Sport is facilitating the funding through Sport Australia as part of their commitment towards 'Sport 2030', a goal to reduce inactivity by 15% by 2030.

The campaign behind the funding encourages Australians to 'Find your 30', which means finding 30 minutes to commit to exercising to heart raising activity each day.

The funding will be distributed through Sport Australia, with grants ranging from $25,000 for local sport and physical activity organisations to $1 million to national sporting organisations.
