Lifeline Macarthur has been commissioned by South Western Sydney PHN to commence the coordination of Suicide Prevention projects throughout South Western Sydney. The program will include Suicide Bereavement Support Groups and a Suicide Aftercare Program.

Expressions of interest are being sought from food stall holders who would like to hold a stall during the Fairfield Relay for Life this November. This fun outdoor overnight fundraising event honours the lives of those who have been touched by cancer. Teams take turns to walk or run around a track 

Do you have a child with a disability aged 0-18 years? If so, you’re welcome to come along to MyTime Liverpool. The group is a welcoming environment for parents/carers to share information and build a network. Children aged 0-6 years are welcome and supervised by two play helpers.

Fairfield City Museum and Gallery is offering a range of activities in the school holidays for children. Activities include cupcake and cookie making, robot building, hat making and art workshops and are available for children aged from 5 to 13 years. Bookings are essential.

Fairfield City Leisure Centres and Fairfield Youth & Community Centre are offering a full schedule of activities for kids these school holidays. The program is open to children aged between 5 and 12 years. Children can be dropped off at the Fairfield Youth and Community Centre from 8.00am

Flyht Youth Health Services are running a number of activities to celebrate Mental Health Month this October. The events include a walking group, mindfulness, an art workshop, and a healthy cooking session. Healthy, delicious food will be served at all events. 

CORE Community Services is offering a variety of fun activities and outings for young people aged between 12 and 18 these school holidays. Activities on offer include a 3-day sports clinic, a trip to Taronga Zoo, a dance and drama workshop and an open day.

Agencies and community sector organisations are invited to hold a stall at the Western Sydney University Social Work and Community Welfare Careers Expo. This expo helps students graduating in Social Work and Community Welfare from the university to gain an understanding of the agencies

The NSW Government has approved the building of the new Sydney Zoo on a 16.5-hectare facility at Bungarribee Park in Western Sydney Parklands. The new zoo will feature 30 exotic and native animal exhibits that will be accessible through safari-like enclosures and elevated boardwalks.

Multicultural young people make up at least one-quarter of all Australian youth but very little is known about their needs. The MY Australia census is the first national study of young people from migrant and refugee backgrounds. It aims to find out more about Australia’s multicultural young people,

New figures released by the Western Sydney Rail Alliance (WSRA) show that a north-south passenger rail network joining the new Western Sydney Airport at Badgerys Creek to Penrith in the north and Campbelltown in the south could add more than 350,000 new homes and almost 120,000 new jobs to the region.

This year as part of NSW Children’s Week, ACYP is launching a design competition for all children and young people under the age of 18 in NSW. This is an opportunity for children and young people to engage their creative side; 

Connections: Western Sydney Helpline is a free low intensity psychological service for people who are at risk, or have experienced symptoms of distress or mild symptoms of mental ill health for less than 12 months.

The NSW Public Guardian is offering free full-day tailored workshops for disability service staff to promote the decision making rights of people with disabilities. Delivered in the context of the NDIS, these workshops focus on supported decision making and capacity building.

Team Up is offering grants to people with disability to set up or develop peer groups. Grants of up to $10,000 are available to help people set up new peer groups, grow existing groups, or connect a peer group to the wider community through a project or campaign.

Made in the West is an annual film festival uniting established and emerging Western Sydney filmmakers on the red carpet in celebration of their work. The festival is seeking short film submissions from filmmakers in the region. Films of any genre are welcome, from documentary and music video, 

New weekly train services have been announced that will boost the frequency and capacity of services for train customers in Western Sydney in the biggest single uplift to train services in a generation.
