A 2016 study from the University of the South suggests that performing "random acts of kindness" for others or for the world can boost your mood. The study found that helping others can boost your mood more so than if you had done something to help yourself.

Medical News Daily also noted these acts might help to boost your mood because doing them encourages your body to release dopamine, which gives you what some call a "helper's high."

A University of Melbourne study is investigating the benefits and challenges of virtual reality, social robots and other technologies that aim to improve the social and emotional wellbeing of aged care recipients.

Mental health organisations are concerned the new NDIS Psychosocial Disability stream is leaving many behind, with around 91% of mentally ill Australians unable to access the stream.

The federal government has responded to one of the key recommendations of the Aged Care Workforce Taskforce with the establishment of a working group to oversee aged care workforce skills.

A report says gaps in the NDIS marketplace are resulting in unfair and inequitable access to services for people with a disability and calls for better management of the national scheme.
