Farmers in regional Western Australia will receive $5 million worth of new and upgraded digital networks to provide greater support to those outside of the National Broadband Network.

The program is designed to improve quality of life and systems of work for those living in remote and regional areas. The Western Australian State Government has announced the next round of installations will be divided between a handful of contractors to adequately cover the expansive geographic area that will be covered.

WA Agriculture and Food Minister Alannah MacTiernan said that the new networks would help farmers to have a competitive edge in the global market, as well as to drive agricultural activity and expansion in Western Australia.
