About Us

Greenacre Area Community Centre (GACC) is a not-for-profit community organisation offering a range of services and programs to the local communities of Greenacre, Chullora, Mt Lewis, and the wider Canterbury Bankstown Local Government Area.

GACC has been in operation since 1997. It became an Incorporated Association in 2002, under the name Greenacre Area Neighbourhood Centre Inc., changing its name in 2011 to Greenacre Area Community Centre to reflect the terminology more commonly used within the community.

Whilst programs and services have evolved over the years in response to community needs and the availability of funding, GACC has retained its focus on providing community capacity building programs for the whole community, with a particular focus on children, young people, families, and people who are socially isolated or disadvantaged.

GACC has built strong local networks and collaborates with other agencies to increase community access to services.

GACC offers the following services and programs:

  • Supported Playgroup
  • School Holiday Activities
  • Child and Family Counselling and Case Work Services
  • Educational Workshops
  • Recreational Activities
  • English Classes
  • Information and Referral
  • Drop-in client support

  • Community Events
  • Access to phones and photocopying
  • Assistance with forms
  • Justice of the Peace (JP) services
  • Advocacy in dealing with government agencies
  • Student Placements

The governing body of GACC is a volunteer Management Committee comprised of local residents who are professional workers with the requisite skills and a strong commitment to locally-based community services. The Management Committee is elected by the membership at the Annual General Meeting.
