VET Trainers and Assessors February 2019

The Roles:

We are looking for suitably qualified and experienced Vocational Education trainers and assessors willing to join our team for the following course deliveries:

BSB20115 Certificate II in Business BSB30415 Certificate III in Business Administration BSB40515 Certificate IV in Business Administration CHC33015 Certificate III in Individual Support CHC43115 Certificate IV in Disability ICT10115 Certificate I in Information, Digital Media & Technology ICT20115 Certificate II in Information, Digital Media & Technology ICT30115 Certificate III in Information, Digital Media & Technology 22471VIC - Initial General Education for Adults 22472VIC - Certificate I in General Education for Adults 22473VIC - Certificate II in General Education for Adults 22474VIC - Certificate III in General Education for Adults 22476VIC - Certificate 1 in General Education for Adults (Introductory)  

The Application Process

Provide cover letter outlining why you are applying and include answers to the following questions:

  • What was the most recent training and/or assessment you conducted?
  • Describe the student capabilities and the challenges and achievements in that course.
  • Explain your understanding of RTO compliance and how it affects your role as a trainer/assessor.
  • What is your availability for this year? Would you prefer day or evening classes or both?
  • Do you have a current drivers license, insured car and be willing to use it to travel to locations in the Penrith/Blue Mountains region if required?

Attachments must include:

  • Current CV Current trainer/assessor matrix
  • Current professional development log
  • Certified copies of relevant qualifications

The Interview Process If your application is short-listed you will be contacted by telephone to confirm your authenticity and commitment to employment. If your telephone interview is successful you will be required to attend a face to face panel interview with RTO Compliance Manager, CEO and Programming Manager.

During the interview you will be assessed on your interpersonal skills, knowledge of National Standards for Registered Training Organisations and industry currency. You will also be questioned on the information provided in your initial application.

You will be asked to supply the names and contact details of 2 professional referees. Our final decision will be conveyed to you within 10 business days.  

Essential Requirements

  • TAE40116 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment. (You must provide evidence if you are in the process of upgrading your qualification from TAE40110)
  • At least 1 year experience as a VET trainer/assessor
  • VET Qualification in the relevant field with industry experience
  • Working with Children Check Federal Police Check (CHC trainers only)
  • Knowledge of the National Standards for Registered Training Organisations
  • Commitment to providing compliant documentation and taking part in any required professional development workshops
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and delivery

Desired Requirements

  • Experience in developing and validating resources and assessments
  • Ability to communicate with a diverse range of clients
  • Desire to build relationships in community that facilitate growth and development for all students  

Duties will include (but are not be limited to):

  • Delivery of training and assessment in accredited courses
  • Contribute to the development of training materials that meet ASQA requirements
  • Participate in the regular assessment validation process
  • Develop and ensure the implementation of learning materials as required
  • Ensure content delivery and interaction
  • Ensure compliance with policy and processes that satisfy all regulatory guidelines
  • Mentor and assess students from many different cultural backgrounds
  • Assessment of learner competency against various performance criteria.
