Settlement Services International (SSI) is encouraging service providers and community workers to use SSI’s online package of Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CALD) disability data. SSI has collated the largest ever collection of quantitative and statistical data about disability and ethnicity across NSW.

All available data sets including disability, carers, ethnicity, religion, place of residence, language spoken, country of birth, Centrelink payments by disability type were utilised to provide estimates and paint a picture of the status of people with disability in NSW, and in particular those from CALD backgrounds.

An interactive online data platform, the FutureAbility DataCube (FADC) has been developed to present statistical data about people aged under 65 years old with disability. This crucial demographic data can be used to underpin future policies, service planning and direction to ensure an equitable and active participation of all communities in the NDIS.
