The 2018-19 Aged Care Approvals round winners have been announced, with more than a third of the places allocated to non-metropolitan facilities. However, only 57 of these places have been allocated to increase capacity in facilities within the Orana-Far West and Central West regions.

A new rehabilitation facility has opened in Dubbo tailored specifically for people with disability. 'Active - On the Move' offers a more inclusive gym experience for people with disability, as well as an opportunity to build social inclusion in the Dubbo community.

Ability Links and Everywhere Venues have partnered to produce a new project called 'accessible at a glance', which has been designed to engage and educate communities in Western NSW around accessibility issues in public and private spaces.

Orange's LiveBetter swimming squad has been crowned the 2019 champions at a recent all abilities swimming carnival. More than 40 athletes were sent to Parkes to compete against rivals from all over Western NSW, including Dubbo, Cowra, Bathurst and Forbes.

A prominent Dubbo disability services provider Northcott is preparing to close its doors after 25 years of servicing the community. The closure comes as a result of growing competition in the disability services sector in the region.
