Ability Links and Everywhere Venues have partnered to produce a new project called 'accessible at a glance', which has been designed to engage and educate communities in Western NSW around accessibility issues in public and private spaces.

The project involves various tools that can be utilised by the public to facilitate a more accessible community. These tools include:

  • Mapping and listing the accessibility of local businesses on the Everywhere Venues website
  • Offering businesses free resources to display their accessibility options and free on-sites assessments
  • Providing a platform for customers to book venues with accessibility features via the Everywhere Venues website
  • Educating businesses on how they can improve their accessibility

The project is currently seeking volunteers to train as 'Accessibility Champions', who will work in the Mudgee, Oberon, Parkes, Orange, Blayney, Bathurst and Cowra communities.

If you are interested in volunteering, or if you are a business and would like a free assessment, stickers or a listing on the Everywhere Venues website, contact Ability Links Central West on 0414 132 004 or Everywhere Venues on 0438 316 106.
