The 2018-19 Aged Care Approvals round winners have been announced, with more than a third of the places allocated to non-metropolitan facilities. However, only 57 of these places have been allocated to increase capacity in facilities within the Orana-Far West and Central West regions.

As a result of the funding, 79 new residential care facilities will be built throughout Australia. Three major for-profit providers, Opal Aged Care, Arcare and Signature Care received 22% of the overall places, with Signature Care to receive 1,390 new licenses for individual places.
