Western Sydney Recover College is offering two workshops on mental health self advocacy in April.

Introduction to Self Advocacy, 5 April 2018

This workshop will introduce students to self advocacy, how this relates to personal recovery and the key principles that guide self advocacy decisions and actions. Practical frameworks and supports will be introduced and students given an opportunity to apply their learning to relevant situations in a supportive environment.

Self Advocacy Skills, 20 April 2018

This workshop will build on and extends students’ learning from Introduction to Self Advocacy. Topics covered include the self advocacy cycle, pathways thinking and self advocacy strategies, communication, and self care for advocacy. This practical workshop uses a range of activities to develop self advocacy skills in a supportive environment.
