The Western NSW Local Health District has released its latest quarterly report, showing improved hospital waiting times and increased usage of services in the region. 

According to the report, there was a 3.4% increase in elective surgeries from the same period last year, with 99.3% of those surgeries conducted within the recommended elective surgery triage times. 

A total of 43,009 emergency patients were treated in the region, which was also an increase on last years statistics.
