Australian Aged Care Quality Agency
Getting to Know the Standards
October-November 2018
Various Locations

The Quality Agency is offering a program of compliance assistance to support the sector during the transition to the new Aged Care Quality Standards.

The aim of these sessions is to raise awareness of the new Standards by supporting managers to engage with the guidance materials and ensuring they understand the intent and requirements of each Standard.

Through active participation in this course participants will be able to:

  • Describe the intent and application of each of new Aged Care Quality Standards.
  • Use and apply the Guidance material to inform a self-assessment
  • Describe the assessment of performance against each requirement.
  • Take steps to prepare your organisation for assessment against the new Standards.

Target Audience: This information session has been developed for those in leadership positions including managers, service co-ordinators, quality managers, educators and trainers of aged care services. Representatives who attend these information sessions will develop an understanding of the new Standards that they can take back to their service. From there services will need to consider what the new Standards mean for their service and how they will influence their culture and inform their practice.
