Two little cups of coffee on a table in a garden

Do you enjoy interacting with older people, have an interest in gardening and have a spare hour and a half a fortnight? This is a great opportunity to provide companionship and conversation with an elderly woman in Emu Plains. As a social support volunteer, you will visit a community member at their home once a fortnight, preferably a Thursday.

A friendly face, good conversation (our client particularly enjoys gardening topics) and a cuppa can make a big difference in someone's day. You may also like to organise an outing to a cafe.

Orientation and ongoing support will be provided by Leep. You will need to undergo a criminal record check before starting your volunteer work.

Other skills and requirements:

  • Willingness to visit at 8:00am
  • Ability to relate to older people and their families
  • Good communication skills
  • Patience
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Ability to keep boundaries and take direction

Desirable:

  • Comprehensively insured vehicle and Class C drivers licence
