Are you an empathetic person with some spare time each week to provide companionship? Supportive care volunteers support people living with a life limiting condition to live as fully and richly as possible. They aim to enhance the quality of life for patients, families and carers.

Volunteers engage in conversation, playing cards, board games, reading to them, listening to music, writing cards/letters to loved ones. Volunteers compliment and enhance the care provided by the supportive care team.

Specific skills and requirements:

  • Children's Check
  • National Police Check will be done by Health

Other skills and requirements:

  • Mature, reliable and compassionate,
  • able to work with people with serious illnesses and carers managing grief,
  • no bereavement in last 12 months,
  • immunisations up to date or willing to obtain.

Training of 4 days will be held during September, dates to be confirmed, 9.00am-3.00pm.
