Do you want to help people participate in their community and want to help provide equal accessibility? Opportunity for a Transport Education Assistant with a elderly and disability services organisation. Part-time and casual positions are available for volunteers to cover the Blacktown, Parramatta, Cumberland, and The Hills District LGA. Shifts are flexible, available between 8am to 4pm from Monday to Friday.

Volunteers report to the Transport Programs and Education Coordinator (TPEC).

The position offers a diversity of challenges, responsibilities and experiences.

Duties include;

  • Individual Transport Education Training including training individuals to use public transport;
  • Group Transport Education Training, assisting TPEC and supporting clients in group training sessions;
  • Basic Administration tasks for Transport Education Programs;
  • Working to ensure efficient service delivery and to identify and respond to issues as they emerge.

Days/Times: 8am to 4pm, Monday to Friday

  • National Police Check

Recommended Experience;

- Previous Travel Training experience within a workforce or as a carer.

- Completed studies or currently completing studies in community services, disability or aged care.

- Previous volunteering experience in the community services industry.

- Experience working with people with diverse backgrounds and/or people with disabilities.

- Experience using public transport in any of the above LGA’s.

In addition to the above skills, you must be able to demonstrate good communication skills, be compassionate to individuals, have sound judgement and a willingness to use your initiative.
