  • Meet new people and be part of a great team
  • Various locations and shift times available

Every year in NSW alone, more than 40,000 new cases of cancer are expected to be diagnosed, and the impact on families, carers and communities is significant. Together with our volunteers, supporters, stakeholders and staff, we are committed to reducing the impact of cancer on individuals and the community, and to lessening the burden for people affected by cancer.

Penrith Relay For Life will take place on 4th – 5th May 2019 and we are looking for passionate, proactive members of the local community to join the great volunteer team that organises this inspiring event.

Volunteer led, owned and run, this community event is looking for new and exciting ways to incorporate businesses, community and sport groups, schools and local health services into the event. The Organising Committee meet once a month, with committee members taking on varied roles in areas including administration, experience, logistics and community development.

Guided and supported by a staff member from the Cancer Council, the committee works together, with volunteer members contributing what they can. It is extremely satisfying, motivating and uplifting and most of all we are working towards one goal – a cancer free world.

Being involved in the planning of this great event provides an opportunity for members of the local community to:
- Give back to the community
- Gain experience in event organisation
- Help raise money for cancer research, prevention and support services
- Have fun and meet new people

We encourage local community members to bring their own flair to the event and further expand Relay For Life into the community. Take the plunge and try that something new you have been searching for!

There are a range of roles available including:

  • Event set up/pack down
  • Registration Desk/Dog morning registration
  • Candle sales/Night Ceremony Assistants
