The NSW Police Force is set to recruit over 1500 new Police Officers with a specific focus on the prevention of elder abuse and child abuse in communities. 

Lifeline Central West CEO Stephanie Robinson has commended the government for recognising this gap in law enforcement, and says it will make a big difference in supporting the vulnerable in Central West communities.

Troy Grant, the Minister for Police and Dubbo MP announced the positions as part of a state wide push to lessen the impact of abuse of communities. 

A Child Abuse Protection Officer and an Elder Abuse Prevention Officer are set to be placed at every Police Station across NSW within the next 4 years.
