Location: Western Sydney - various. RISE Education Mentors are responsible for providing one on one mentoring in the classroom weekly for one hour to a student with a parent in prison. Gifting a little of your time can make a huge change in the life of a young person!

By providing the student with a positive role model and someone to advocate for them within the school environment you are ensuring they don’t just survive a difficult time in their life but that they thrive.

 
Tasks include:
  • Provide weekly support in the classroom for one hour over 12 months with a Mentee
  • Provide timely online Education Report to RISE Education Coordinator after any contact with Mentee after each session.
  • Work with teachers and relevant support workers within the school to aid a child in achieving their learning potential.
  • Promote a caring, culturally appropriate and non judgmental learning environment for young people where they are the priority and where they are treated with dignity and respect.
Program will start 4 February 2019.
