Advocates have claimed the UN's new disability inclusion strategy is a giant leap for inclusion. Members of the UN have argued that inclusion is a "Fundamental human right" and paramount in achieving it's Sustainable Development Goals for 2020.

“When we fight to secure those rights, we move our world closer to upholding the core values and principles of the United Nations Charter,” Guterres said.

“When we remove policies or biases or obstacles to opportunity for persons with disabilities, the whole world benefits.”

The strategy includes an accountability framework to monitor progress and address challenges around disability inclusion, while encouraging more people with disability to work in, and be better supported by, the UN.

In accordance with this, the UN has introduced policies and guidelines for government organisations to abide by to keep their information inclusive & accessible.

It has also created policies for it's own recruiters in an effort to become more inclusive.
